What are India's chances at the Olympics?

In about a week from now, the world's best athletes – including 117 from India – will descend upon Paris to compete in the 2024 Olympic Games.

Tokyo 2020 gave us our greatest haul of medals from the Olympics thus far, and many of the same Indians who triumphed in Japan will take centre stage in France.

Neeraj Chopra, the golden boy of Indian athletics and reigning champion in the men’s javelin throw, is expected to excel. Badminton player PV Sindhu, weightlifter Mirabai Chanu and boxer Lovlina Borgohain will be vying for a return to the podium.

But there are new contenders as well – the men’s doubles badminton pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty – have been among the best in the world lately, as has boxer Nikhat Zareen.
